Jennifer G. Hollis

designer.

On the clock, I’m solving messy problems, shaping product strategy, designing intuitive systems, and turning complex workflows into clear, useful, human experiences.

human.

Off the clock, I’m cooking something good, spending time at church, building LEGO masterpieces, creating art, or chasing waves — usually with sandy feet and a full heart.

Senior Product Designer (UI/UX)

Sunny Port Orange, Florida

I’m a product-focused Senior UI/UX Designer who turns messy, fragmented workflows into clear, scalable digital products that teams can actually use, build, and grow. I’ve led 0→1 enterprise design for an insurance claims platform supporting 250+ users in a 500+ employee organization, redesigned a fintech startup site for 1,000+ users, and optimized proptech portals across 400+ communities.

I’m at my best when I’m mapping complex systems, designing patterns that scale, and turning research into solutions that feel obvious in hindsight. I’m drawn to teams where design is a strategic partner — shaping direction, reducing ambiguity, and helping teams move with clarity.

What I’m Known For

“Jennifer has a way of making complex work feel organized and approachable. She asked thoughtful questions, helped the team see the workflow more clearly, and designed patterns that made the product easier to build and easier to use.”

Design Philosophy

Understand the context. Explore the right paths. Materialize solutions that survive real users, real teams, and real constraints.

This mindset keeps my work grounded in evidence, not assumptions. It helps me balance user needs, business goals, technical realities, and the small interaction details that make a product feel clear, useful, and buildable.

Understand

  • Define the problem, goals, and success criteria
  • Research user needs, behaviors, and pain points
  • Align teams around the right challenge to solve

Before designing screens, I clarify the people, workflows, constraints, and business context behind the work.

Explore

  • Map IA, flows, and possible solution paths
  • Prototype concepts before overbuilding
  • Balance user value, feasibility, and scale

I turn insight into direction by shaping ideas, testing paths, and narrowing toward scalable solutions.

Materialize

  • Design clear, accessible product interfaces
  • Validate decisions through feedback and testing
  • Support handoff, QA, iteration, and delivery

I bring solutions to life through polished UI, reusable systems, and build-ready product direction.

What I Bring

A mix of product clarity, systems thinking, UI craft, research judgment, and front-end fluency — so ideas do not just look good in Figma, they make sense for users, teams, and implementation.

my approach.

A practical UX process for turning ambiguity into build-ready product direction.

I use a flexible, iterative process rooted in research, exploration, validation, and delivery. It is not always perfectly linear, because real product work rarely is, but it keeps teams aligned around the right problem, the right users, and the right level of fidelity at the right time.

01

Discover

01

Discover

  • Define goals and constraints, shaping problem framing and success measures.
  • Research users and workflows, surfacing needs, pain points, and patterns.
  • Synthesize findings into personas, journey maps, and opportunity areas.
Discover

Discovery turns ambiguity into a clear problem space before design decisions begin.

02

Ideate

02

Ideate

  • Map flows and IA, creating structure around tasks, content, and paths.
  • Prioritize features and tradeoffs, clarifying scope and product direction.
  • Explore concepts and edge cases through sketches, flows, and scenarios.
Ideate

Ideation turns research into focused directions teams can discuss, test, and build from.

03

Design

03

Design

  • Wireframe key screens, clarifying layout, hierarchy, and task flow.
  • Prototype interactions, making workflows easier to review and validate.
  • Systemize patterns and components, supporting consistency and scale.
Design

Design turns strategy into tangible experiences that balance clarity, usability, and scale.

04

Test

04

Test

  • Evaluate usability, identifying friction, confusion, and missed expectations.
  • Measure task success and errors, capturing evidence for design decisions.
  • Validate solutions with users, stakeholders, and engineering partners.
Test

Testing pressure-tests decisions before build and reduces risk before work moves downstream.

05

Iterate

05

Iterate

  • Refine flows and screens, applying feedback from testing and review.
  • Improve accessibility and efficiency, strengthening patterns over time.
  • Repeat feedback loops, evolving the product as needs and data change.
Iterate

Iteration sharpens the experience as feedback reveals what needs to change.

06

Deliver

06

Deliver

  • Handoff specs and assets, giving engineering clear build guidance.
  • Support QA and implementation, resolving gaps, states, and edge cases.
  • Monitor feedback and usage, identifying post-launch opportunities.
Deliver

Delivery carries design through implementation so quality stays intact during build.

Off the Clock (Who I Am)

I’m usually in the kitchen testing a new recipe, at church, stacking LEGOs into improbable structures, sketching or painting, or chasing waves at the beach whenever I can sneak away.

I empathize deeply with people and their everyday joys and struggles, and I try to notice the tiny moments that feel like gentle reminders of “ahh, yes… I’m blessed.” Creativity tends to show up there too — as unexpected bright spots in the middle of everyday chaos.
